Meet The Team
Founder & CEO
Natasha Manji
My name is Natasha Manji and I have been playing ice hockey since I was 6 and currently play at Shawnigan Lake School with the U18 Female Prep team. Through hockey, I have made long lasting friendships that I cherish to this day. Playing the sport has taught me great skills including leadership, teamwork, communication, respect and inclusion. I started Girls Breakaway Foundation to share my love for hockey and to inspire others. My hope is that all girls who want to play are given the same opportunity I was.
Community Outreach Director
Anya Porter
My name is Anya Porter and I’ve been playing hockey for over half my life. Hockey has taught me so many life lessons and paved the path to where I am today. Sports were so important in my life and had a huge influence on it. My goal is to help guide other female athletes and educate others on why it is so important to participate in sports throughout your life. I think it is so crucial that we continue to celebrate female athletes and provide equal opportunities to ensure that girls can have the same experience I did.
Media Manager
Meera Smith
My name is Meera Smith and I have been playing hockey since the age of 4! I would not be where I am and who I am today if it wasnt for hockey. I am commited to promoting and supporting women in sport at every level and providing girls with the same oppurtunities I had when I was young. By providing equal opputunities, and resources to all, we can empower female athletes right now and for future generations.

I believe it is extremely important for all girls in sports to be treated equally and given opportunities to pursue their goals.
Coach/program manager
Morgan Jackson
My name is Morgan Jackson and I have been playing hockey since I could walk. I grew up in a small town and by playing hockey that became who I was. Hockey has played a huge role in my everyday life and I would not be where I am today without it. Since I came from a small town not very many girls were playing. This has motivated me to support any girls in sport and try to help them pursue their goals and dreams.
